We are a network of 300 professionals, students, actvisits, and technologists based in over 10 countries. The group began in New York City in 2017 and has since then expanded to host hackathons in NYC, the greater Boston area, and San Francisco.
We aim outilize new technologies to connect members of the Venezuelan community, and to provide a decentralized platform for rebuilding key aspects of the country’s democracy, infrastructure, and industry. To do so we rely on the following pillars:
- Workshops and Networking Sessions
- Digital think tank
- Project incubation
Through out the year, we host regular events and engage in inspiring conversations on a slack which includes a global network.
In 2019 the co-founders, Chloe Potsklan and Mikel Matticoli solidified this movement by exacting our mission and continuining to plan future hackathons.
Prior to 2019, Will Falcon organized the first hackathon at NYU in 2017, followed by the next hackathon at Fordham University in mid 2018, and with the latest hackathon at WPI in late 2018. The InnovateVenezuela team helped to initially launch Code for Venezuela in San Francisco and their activities are organized independently.
